NBA Free Agency Opens with Major Moves Across the League

NBA free agency officially opened today at 6 p.m. ET, kicking off a flurry of reported deals as teams look to reshape their rosters before the 2025-26 season. While signings cannot be made official until July 6 at 12:01 p.m. ET, several key moves have already emerged.

The Memphis Grizzlies locked in two core players, agreeing to a five-year extension with Jaren Jackson Jr. and a three-year deal with Santi Aldama. Ty Jerome is also reportedly heading to Memphis on a three-year contract.

In a notable trade, the Brooklyn Nets sent Cam Johnson to the Denver Nuggets in exchange for Michael Porter Jr. and a draft pick. Denver also re-signed Bruce Brown to a one-year deal.

The Houston Rockets made a splash by signing Dorian Finney-Smith to a four-year deal and adding Clint Capela to a three-year contract.

Other reported signings include D’Angelo Russell to the Mavericks, Caris LeVert to the Pistons, Brook Lopez to the Clippers, and Tyus Jones to the Magic.

The Hawks added Nickeil Alexander-Walker and Luke Kennard, while the Lakers picked up Jake LaRavia. The Spurs agreed to a four-year deal with Luke Kornet, and the Pelicans added Kevon Looney on a two-year contract.

More deals are expected as teams continue negotiations in the days ahead.
