Shilo Sanders is speaking openly after being released from the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, sharing both gratitude and determination as he looks ahead to the next phase of his journey.
In a YouTube video posted on August 29, the defensive back thanked the organization for giving him a shot at the NFL stage, even though he was waived before the season officially began. For Sanders, this moment is simply one chapter in a much larger story. “I believe in God… I feel like this is just part of my story to grow and do bigger and better things. Whether it’s finding another team or getting another opportunity in the NFL,” Sanders said.
He praised the atmosphere in Tampa Bay, giving love to his coaches, teammates, and the community that embraced him during his time there. “It was nothing but great,” Sanders shared, noting that he will remain ready and in shape for when the next opportunity comes.
Although football is still his main priority, Sanders made it clear that his ambitions go beyond the gridiron. He revealed that he has long been involved with other creative outlets. “I’ve always done that my whole life… I’m well-versed,” he explained, pointing to music, acting, and modeling as passions he is ready to explore further if the right doors open.
Sanders even joked about the contrast between his journey and that of his younger brother, quarterback Shedeur Sanders, who has been heavily spotlighted in draft conversations. With honesty and confidence, Shilo framed his current setback not as an ending but as the beginning of new opportunities—whether in football or beyond.
