Lil Wayne, and most of the world for that matter, is showing love to Taylor Swift and Travis Kelce after news of their engagement shook both the sports and music worlds. While performing in Kansas City, home of Kelceās Chiefs, Weezy took a moment to give the couple a shoutout.
Rocking a cardigan as a nod to Swift, Wayne told the crowd, āIām dressed in spirit. In the spirit of my man Travis and my girl, you already know Taylor. Traylor! Thatās what we call them. Congratulations.ā
Get this, the New Orleans iconās comments come not long after he shared his thoughts about the Super Bowl halftime stage. Wayne admitted that he no longer has interest in chasing the opportunity after being overlooked for a show in his hometown of New Orleans earlier this year. āEvery time I looked, it was nothing that made me want to go inside and see what was going on,ā he explained. Speaking on Kendrick Lamarās recent halftime performance, he added, āThey stole that feeling. I donāt want to do it. It was perfect.ā
Wayne also revealed that for years he felt like the NFL was hinting he would eventually get the call, encouraging him to appear more publicly to prepare for it.
āTo perform, itās a bunch of things theyāre going to tell you to do and not do, asses to kiss and not kiss,ā he said. āIf you notice, I was a part of things Iāve never been a part of. Like [Michael] Rubinās all-white parties. Iām doing shit with Tom Brady. That was all for that. You aināt never seen me in them types of venues. I aināt Drake. I aināt out there smiling like that everywhere. Iām in the stuā, smokinā and recording.ā
That part.
After being passed over again, Wayne says the NFL dismissed his frustration, telling him, āWe aināt in charge [of the Super Bowl halftime show].ā His takeaway was simple: āAll of a sudden, according to them, they got curved. So, Iām going to have to just settle with whatever they say.ā
That other part.
