50 Cent is expanding his empire once again, this time stepping into the world of true crime. The rapper, actor, and powerhouse producer will both headline and executive produce 50 Ways to Catch a Killer, a six part series set to premiere on Fox Nation on September 16.
The project comes through his G Unit Film and Television company in partnership with Lionsgate Alternative Television. Each episode digs into shocking murder cases that rattled communities and follows the detectives who chased every lead until justice was served. From small overlooked details to dramatic confessions, the series highlights the relentless pursuit of the truth. Episodes will release weekly after the premiere.
50 explained why this project stands out for him. âTrue crime is powerful because itâs real cases, real people, and real justice,â he said in a statement. âWith this series, I want viewers to feel the intensity of these investigations and the relentless effort it takes to uncover the truth. Weâre bringing these stories to life in a way thatâs both gripping and authentic.â
The debut episode, titled Fake âEm Out, spotlights the 2017 disappearance of Maryland teacher Laura Wallen. Her sudden absence on the first day of school and her upcoming engagement launched a frantic investigation. Authorities had to decide whether it was a missing personâs case or a homicide. The story sets an emotional and suspenseful tone for what is to come throughout the series.
Fox Nation executives are banking on 50âs star power to drive interest. Jason Klarman, Fox News Mediaâs chief digital and marketing officer, said, âWith his influence and gift for storytelling, he offers a front row seat to investigations that demand answers.â
This latest move shows 50 continuing to build beyond music and scripted television. After dominating hip hop with classic albums like Get Rich or Die Tryinâ and The Massacre, he made his mark on TV with the Power franchise on Starz, which grew into a hit series and multiple spinoffs. Now, with 50 Ways to Catch a Killer, he brings his storytelling energy into a genre that has captivated audiences worldwide.
