The wait is officially over for horror-comedy fans. Paramount Pictures, in association with Miramax, has announced that the next installment of the iconic parody franchise, Scary Movie, will slash its way into theaters on June 12, 2026.
This marks a massive homecoming for the Wayans Brothers, who are back to executive produce, write, and star in the film that redefined the spoof genre over two decades ago.
The Synopsis: No Trope is Safe
Twenty-six years after they first outran a suspiciously familiar masked killer, the “Core Four” are back in the crosshairs. The legendary quartet—Marlon Wayans (“Shorty”), Shawn Wayans (“Ray”), Anna Faris (“Cindy”), and Regina Hall (“Brenda”)—reunite to take aim at the modern landscape of horror.
According to the official synopsis, the film will “slash through reboots, remakes, requels, prequels, sequels, spin-offs, elevated horror, and anything with the word ‘legacy’ in it.” In true Wayans fashion, the production promises that nothing is sacred and every line will be crossed as they return to “cancel the Cancel Culture.”
