50 Cent Seeks to Limit Claims in Court Fight With Shaniqua Tompkins

A legal battle between 50 Cent and his former partner, Shaniqua Tompkins, is continuing to unfold in a New York court, with both sides disputing what should be considered relevant to the case.

The dispute centers on a contract tied to G-Unit Books, with Jackson arguing that additional allegations raised by Tompkins fall outside the scope of the agreement. In a sworn filing, he asked the court to restrict parts of the record, stating that certain claims could cause unnecessary harm.

“Tompkins…seeks to inject inflammatory and defamatory allegations concerning me personally into this litigation. The allegations concern purported events from decades ago that are wholly irrelevant to the issues,” 50 Cent wrote.

His legal team is framing the matter as a business disagreement over contractual obligations rather than a broader personal dispute. At the same time, Jackson warned of the impact if the contested material remains publicly accessible.

“If Tompkins’ inflammatory and defamatory allegations in her pleadings are permitted to enter the public record without restriction, the resulting harm to my personal and professional reputation will be immediate, severe, and irreversible.”

The case stems from claims by G-Unit Books that Tompkins violated an exclusive life-rights agreement signed in 2007. Tensions escalated after she discussed their past relationship in interviews and on social media, including allegations of abuse during her pregnancy.

Tompkins has challenged the validity of the agreement, arguing that she did not sign it willingly.

“Fearing for my life and for my children’s lives, I signed the agreement under extreme duress,” she alleged back in January.

Jackson’s legal position suggests that acknowledging the agreement shifts the focus to whether its terms were broken. The case remains active after a judge declined to grant a default judgment in his favor, with G-Unit Books seeking $1 million in damages as proceedings continue.
