There is a specific kind of energy that takes over 5th Avenue when Jordan Brand invites you into the “Flight” world. On March 23, I headed to Nike NYHQ for the exclusive Skills & Drills experience to celebrate the launch of the Heir Series 2—a silhouette specifically engineered to match the speed, intensity, and artistry of the women’s game.

The day was a masterclass in how Jordan Brand is doubling down on its commitment to women’s basketball, blending high-performance innovation with the lifestyle culture that makes the sport so vibrant.
The Pre-Game: Customization and Catering
The experience kicked off in the NYHQ Suite, which felt more like a high-end lounge than a locker room. Before hitting the hardwood, we fueled up with a curated spread which to my delight included vegan breakfast wraps and fresh-pressed juices.

In true “Media Day” fashion, the aesthetics were top-tier. I spent the morning at the customization stations, crafting a beautiful gold charm bracelet with Cut and Cropped while professional braiders were on deck to make sure everyone’s hair was game-ready.

Gear Up: The Heir Series 2
Then came the main event: the gear. Jordan Brand provided a full set of apparel and, of course, the Heir Series 2. Stepping into the shoe, you immediately feel the innovation that Jordan Brand’s Flight Ambassadors briefed us on earlier. Designed using direct insights from the best female athletes in the world, the Heir Series 2 is built for the intricacies of her game—lightweight, responsive, and ready for a shift in direction.

The Hardwood: Suicides and Pro-Level Competition
Once the squad was dressed and ready, the vibe shifted from “lifestyle” to “game time.” We headed downstairs to the court where an official WNBA trainer didn’t take it easy on us. We jumped straight into suicide drills, testing the traction and “Cushion” technology of the Heir Series 2 in real-time.
The morning culminated in a full-blown basketball match. The court was packed with talent, including semi-professionals and professional players, leading to an intense, high-stakes “girl-on-girl” game. The competition was fierce, the speed was elite, and the trash talk was authentic—but at the end of the day, my team took home the “W.”

A New Chapter for Greatness
Jordan Brand’s commitment to the growth of global basketball culture was on full display throughout the afternoon. From the “Media Day” content capture to the grueling drills, the event proved that the Heir Series 2 isn’t just a shoe; it’s a statement that the future of greatness is female.
A massive thank you to Jordan Brand for the invitation and the immersive look at the next evolution of the game.
