Drake Responds Lightly After Fan Calls Him Corny: “She know every bar! I Like Her Style”

Drake found himself back in the spotlight after a podcast moment critiquing his music began circulating online, sparking debate over how fans interpret his lyrics years after release.

The discussion originated from a caller on the First Class Podcast, where a listener offered a blunt take on the artist’s style while still acknowledging enjoyment of his music. “I think Drake is a very corny man, and these lyrics further validate his corniness. But I do enjoy this song, and will listen to it sometime.”

The critique focused on “Gyalchester,” a track from his 2017 project More Life, with the fan zeroing in on specific lines she felt didn’t quite align. Breaking down one lyric, she said, “He says it almost as if someone saw him yawn and they were like, ‘Drake, if you’re tired, you should go take a nap,’” she explained. “And he just, like, snaps. He’s like, ‘I don’t take naps.’ But by the sound of it, he probably should take a nap.”

She continued by examining another portion of the verse: “And then he says, ‘Me and the money are way too attached to go and do that / Muscle relax / That and the spliff put me right on my back.’” Interpreting the lines, she added, “So as a listener, we’re assuming he took some pain pills, and he smoked some weed, and he fell asleep, but he just said he don’t take naps. So what are we supposed to believe at this point?”

Drake appeared to take the moment in stride, reposting the clip to his Instagram Story with a short response: “I like her style…”

The exchange quickly gained traction, highlighting how even older songs can resurface in new conversations. While some listeners viewed the critique as humorous, others pointed to it as an example of how audiences continue to dissect lyrics in detail.

The moment underscores Drake’s continued presence at the center of cultural dialogue, where music, personality, and fan interpretation often intersect in real time.
