For English singer-songwriter Ollie Wride, the intersection of nostalgic stadium-sized ambition and innovative modern alternative pop has always been a defining signature. Hailed by Virgin Radio’s Eddie Temple Morris with the assertion that “the future of glamorous rock and roll is in very safe hands,” his momentum shows no signs of slowing down following a landmark 2025 and an exhilarating run of US dates in March.

He recently wrapped the “3 Stops & Vegas Tour,” a brief but highly impactful stateside run that kicked off with a major endorsement from an eighties music legend. Towards the end of March, the singer took the stage at The Venetian in Las Vegas, joining Boy George & Culture Club as a featured guest during their residency. Notably, he was personally asked to appear by Boy George and his management. For fans of both eras, the invitation felt like a symbolic passing of the baton: an original New Romantic granting a seal of approval to a modern iteration who regularly tips his hat to the aesthetic and approach of the decade.

The centerpiece of the Las Vegas feature was a dynamic duet between George and the British artist on David Bowie’s “Let’s Dance.” The performance captured the room’s energy and quickly struck a chord online. A clip of the duet shared on Culture Club’s Instagram generated significant, above-average engagement, resonating widely with fans and standing out as a viral highlight of the residency.

Following the Vegas performances, Ollie Wride brought his live show to the West Coast, delivering headline performances in San Francisco and Los Angeles. Taking the stage at LA’s hallowed venue, The Mint, to a completely sold-out crowd, he used the intimate setting to treat fans to a glimpse of his future. The setlist featured the debut of new material from his upcoming record, including the tracks “Lostman” and “Giving up the Ghost,” signaling a compelling new chapter in his character-driven songwriting that delivers what Culture Fix describes as “euphoric optimism.”

While in Los Angeles, he also made time for the airwaves, sitting down for an interview with legendary music broadcaster Matt Pinfield on The SoCal Sound (88.5 FM). The appearance was rounded out by an exclusive three-song performance for the station, adding to a broadcasting resume that already includes BBC Radio One and BBC Radio Introducing airplay. As Alan Raw of BBC Radio Introducing noted, listeners should “expect very big things” from the artist.

This latest US run builds on a foundation of steady, undeniable growth, supported by a catalog boasting 150 million Spotify plays and over 340,000 monthly listeners. The frontman first found a massive platform as the voice and co-writer behind San Francisco synth-pop purveyors FM-84, penning staples of the genre like “Running In The Night” and “Never Stop.” “Running in the Night,” which has amassed 20 million YouTube plays, was praised by Andrew Brassleay of the London Metro as arguably “synth-wave’s greatest out-and-out tune to date.” The popularity of those collaborations paved the way for his solo debut, Thanks In Advance, which became a fast-selling hit, charting on Billboard’s Top 10 Electronic charts as well as iTunes Electronic charts, and contributing to his achievement of two Top 40 Billboard Albums and two No. 1 albums on iTunes Electronic Charts across 10 countries.

It was his sophomore record, The Pressure Point, released in partnership with The Orchard and Sony on M3 Recordings, that truly cemented his status as a formidable solo act. The album claimed the top spot across all genre charts on Bandcamp and entered the Billboard Top 40, while the single “Wish You Well” secured placements on Spotify’s New Music Friday USA and John Mayer’s Sirius XM Fresh Finds. His expansive appeal is further evidenced by sync placements across major platforms, including Netflix’s Coin Heist and Chosen, HBO’s Titans, Channel 4’s Made in Chelsea, and the Oculus game Synth Riders. Beyond his own releases, he has built an impressive collaborative repertoire, writing for publishers like Kobalt and BMG, and working with names spanning from Meat Loaf to Arcades (BTS). His visual artistry was also recognized when he won the Montreal Independent Film Festival in 2021 for his work on “Back To Life.”

Now, armed with artist endorsements from SE Electronics and ACS Custom, and backed by a dedicated 10,000-subscriber fan mailing list, Ollie Wride returns to the studio. With The Guardian’s Paul Lester declaring he possesses “hooks loud enough to drown out a stadium of vuvuzelas,” his third studio album is poised to be his most confident and realized work to date, ready to deliver what USA Today simply calls “the sound of the summer.”
