The Democratic National Convention has narrowed its scope of host cities for the 2028 event. The 2024 edition was held at Chicago’s United Center, but the next edition is targeting Boston, Denver and Philadelphia.
But that decision is not settling well with everyone, especially the city of Atlanta. Atlanta’s mayor Andre Dickens called out the DNC in a lengthy letter, claiming the party is “abandoning the South.”
The letter in part reads, “They are afraid to leave their comfort zone and blind to the fact that the South is the answer. They are abandoning Atlanta, abandoning the South, and once again abandoning Black voters.”
