Rockstar has confirmed the release date. Everything else is still living in rumor territory.
If the latest Grand Theft Auto 6 chatter is anywhere close to accurate, Rockstar Games may be preparing to make life in Leonida considerably more complicated.
The biggest buzz centers on a potential vehicle fuel system. Gameplay clips reportedly circulating online show fuel and engine gauges appearing on vehicles, with players allegedly required to stop at gas stations to refuel. The process is said to take roughly 10 seconds, which could turn an otherwise routine road trip into a strategic decision when a mission or police pursuit is underway.
The rumored system reportedly goes further. Electric vehicles could have their own charging infrastructure scattered throughout Leonida, while damaged cars may eventually reach a “check engine” or breakdown state and require paid repairs at a gas station. Suddenly, abandoning a vehicle because it is about to explode might not be the only way out of trouble.
Then there is gambling.
Claims about GTA 6 featuring a sportsbook have exploded online, with rumors suggesting players could wager fictional in-game currency on simulated sporting events. The most controversial version of the story involves alleged integration with real-world crypto casino brand “Rainbet.”
That part deserves serious skepticism. Clips purporting to show the integration have been widely flagged as fake, AI-generated or connected to an alleged promotional crypto scam tied to a leaker known as “Cyberleek.”
A more plausible scenario is Rockstar expanding on the enormous success of GTA Online’s Diamond Casino. That could mean blackjack, poker, slots and virtual racing, all operating within the game’s fictional economy.
Rockstar has confirmed GTA 6 will arrive on November 19, 2026. It has not confirmed the fuel system, vehicle breakdown mechanics or sportsbook.
For now, Leonida’s gas stations and casinos remain firmly in rumor country. But if even some of these systems make the final game, GTA 6 could be adding a whole new layer of everyday chaos to the series.
