Lil Nas X has once again turned heads with a bold return to the spotlight after months of quiet. Earlier this year, he surprised fans with Days Before Dreamboy, an eight-track drop filled with songs recorded between 2024 and early 2025. Not long after, he revealed that he had been hospitalized in April with partial facial paralysis. By May, he popped up on The Jennifer Hudson Show to let the world know a new album was in the works. Then, he disappeared from the conversation.
That silence ended this week when Nas wiped his Gram clean and began filling it with striking visuals and teasers. On August 19, he posted an image of himself in a flowing golden gown and white boots, holding lanterns while surrounded by scattered fabric. Other posts included a desk covered in artwork, a dramatic portrait, and a playful selfie where he rocked a fur coat, cowboy hat, crown, and red lipstick with the caption, “OH NO sHES GONE MAD! CRAZY I TELL U!”
Not long after, fans finally heard new music. One snippet introduced a track called “Black Horse,” produced by Young Kio, leaning into the Western vibes that made Old Town Road a global hit. “Turn on the cable, Nassy’s out the stable/ B–ch I’m back around, let them n–gas know it’s fatal/ And I ain’t finna take s–t, n–gas better watch it/ You know I love the sound of them rounds when the Glock hit,” he spits with confidence.
Another preview featured Lil Jon on a song titled “Kimbo,” where Nas croons, “I know you feel pressure/ When nobody’s around/ You Kimbo,” before switching gears into a charged-up verse that keeps the energy high. Fans also got short clips of other sounds, including a tambourine-backed a cappella moment and a vibrant pop-inspired cut performed against the backdrop of a colorful mural.
