Columbus, Ohio’s own Milli Tyme has officially released her highly anticipated EP, House Party: Invite Only, a project that captures her ability to fuse storytelling, energy, and soul into a sound that feels both fresh and timeless. More than just a collection of tracks, the EP reflects Milli Tyme’s journey, resilience, and vision for what hip-hop can be when authenticity leads the way.
From the very start, music has been her outlet. At only 2 years old, Milli Tyme realized that music could be a source of joy even in the toughest moments. By third grade, she was writing poetry that moved her teachers to tears, foreshadowing the lyrical depth she now brings to her songs. Influenced by legends like Missy Elliott, DMX, Tupac, Biggie, Tyler, The Creator and GloRilla, Milli Tyme’s style balances Missy’s creativity, DMX’s raw energy, and Pac’s commitment to unity, all while carrying the unique flair of Ohio.
House Party: Invite Only is exactly what its name suggests, a celebration of togetherness, vibes, and real emotion. With tracks that carry both bounce and substance, the project aims to deliver that “cookout feel-good” energy while staying rooted in authenticity. “I want to make music that feels good, that you can play at a cookout, but that also carries soul and truth,” says Milli.
Behind the music lies a story of perseverance. She’s endured heartbreaking losses, including the passing of her older brother in 2018, her nephew in August 2024, and her beloved aunt just months later. Those experiences fuel her drive and her artistry. “I want to make sure my son doesn’t have to work as hard as I did,” she explains. That determination echoes throughout House Party: Invite Only, making it as personal as it is universal.
Although the EP doesn’t yet feature big-name collaborations, Milli Tyme’s buzz is growing. Blogs and radio stations in Ohio and Texas have already given her music airtime, signaling her growing reach. As one early review noted: “A unique vibe that the world has to feel in order to understand — and it’s worth it.”
With House Party: Invite Only, Milli Tyme cements herself as one of Ohio’s most promising voices, bringing authenticity and unity back to the forefront of rap. Her philosophy? “Being nice is free. Emotional maturity will save you from bad situations. And we only get one life, so go all in.”
