Her Source Exclusive: Chrissy & Jim Jones Talk ‘Chrissy & Mr. Jones’, Family Life, Business & More

Her Source caught up with reality TV personality Chrissy Lampkin and rapper Jim Jones who are gearing up for their second season of  ‘Chrissy & Mr. Jones’, which premieres tonight at 9 pm on VH1.

How do you guys balance being on reality TV with your regular lives?

Jim Jones: We balance it by being regular people and not letting reality TV reflect how we are when they are not there. We are all about family and mostly my son and our businesses. We are raising our son.

What other reality shows do you two like to watch in your spare time?

Chrissy: We’re not into reality shows. We only watch shows that come on Sundays like “Ray Donovan,” “Homeland,” and many others. We don’t even watch our own show.

What advice would you give couples to maintain their relationships?

Chrissy: The advice that I would give is make sure that you always communicate with each other and start out as friends before anything because me & Jim were friends first before we met.

Are we hearing wedding bells in the future?

Chrissy: We didn’t set a date yet, but we’re still  getting married soon. Right now, for us it’s all about raising our son and our relationship.

Last season, we saw you sampling a clothing line with your best friends Talia and Emily B. Are we going to see a clothing line in the future?

Chrissy: This time around, Talia and Emily are currently working on different ventures, but we still communicate with each other. Talia is working on her music and Emily is working on her shoe line but they are still on the show. I am working on Lady Vamp, a joint venture with Jim’s clothing line Vampire Life and have plans to open a store in Miami.

How do you feel about Nancy putting out a book that is based on relationships and dating?

Jim Jones: My mom has lived a lot of life and she’s been in a lot of different relationships, so I’m sure there’s a few lessons in there. She’s a great woman to learn from because she was a single mom raising four kids so I don’t have a problem with it.

What can fans expect this season?

Chrissy: This season, you are going see our new family member Pudie (Jim’s son) as he moves in with us, and more projects in the works like my own clothing line Lady Vamp in which I have plans to open a store in Miami soon. I work for Vampire Life as a creative director and it’s definitely a lot more independence when it comes to my business and you see me get advice from Deb Antney, who is a hip hop manger.

Season 2 – Episode 1 Recap!

On the season two premiere of the VH1 series Chrissy and Mr. Jones, we are introduced to a new member of their family Jim Jones’ 10 year old son Pudy and reunited with some old faces Mama Jones and her crazy friend Freddy.

Her Source counted down some of the moments that were funny with a capital F:

1.Jim Jones talks to Pudy about his “relationship”

In the beginning of the show, we see them racing each other and as they are eating their pizza. Pudy was telling him that he has a girlfriend. Jim Jones asks Pudy to facetime his girlfriend and Pudy told him that he is an embarrassing parent. Don’t we all have parents that embarrass us? But we still love them.

2. Mama Jones talks about the rumors on sleeping with Freddy

While grocery shopping with her friend, Sassy, Mama Jones says she heard rumors about her and Freddy being intimate with each other, but says that she doesn’t want him. Mama always knows best when it comes to relationships.

3. Jim Jones offers his advice to Pudy about staying on Chrissy’s good side

While gardening outside, Jim and Pudy were talking about how to stay on Chrissy’s side by saying if a light bulb doesn’t work, put in a new one. But isn’t that man’s job to do what the woman tells you to do?

4. Freddy surprises Mama Jones with a “romantic” picnic

Freddy called up Mama Jones and surprises her with a picnic & he brought flowers and champagne for her and suddenly she tries to attack him with a taser. She has her guard up when it comes to Freddy because he duped her in the past. This sounds very suspicious.

Tune In every Monday at 9 pm on VH1
