The year of Jhene Aiko
Singer Jhene Aiko has a lot to celebrate now that her debut EP Sail Out is officially number one on the Billboard R&B charts and number eight on the Billboard Hot 200 chart in the country. The 25-year-old singer has dominated the r&b world by collaborating with some of our favorite rappers like Ab-Soul, Kendrick Lamar, Vince Staples, Childish Gambino, Big Sean, Drake, and J. Cole.
Aiko is the first singer signed to both Def Jam and ARTium Records to break a record with a debut EP. Sail out sold over 33,000 copies in its first week. The singer is currently busy promoting her EP, prepping for her debut LP, Souled Out, which would be released sometime in 2014.
The singer recently toured with Drake and is currently shooting the video for Drake‘s single, The Worst.
