Big Sean cares a lot about his hometown of Detroit. He’s been heavily involved in scores of charities, school programs, rebuilding efforts and other humanitarian efforts regarding the city that reared him, and the on-stage moments he brings the D are just as special.
After spending much of this year on tour with J. Cole on the 2014 Forest Hills Drive Tour, Sean made sure to come home to Detroit and put on a concert at Joe Louis Arena celebrating the most successful year of his career, and his first #1 album, Dark Sky Paradise, which snagged a 140,000 first-week sales mark back in February.
In last night’s show, Sean was joined by several of his Detroit peers, including Danny Brown, Eminem, Royce Da 5’9″, and DeJ Loaf, who all joined the “Play No Games” rapper on stage to perform their posse cut, “Detroit vs Everybody.” Eminem gracing the stage was an especially special moment, considering, well, he’s rarely seen by anyone.
Sean would also be joined by Lil Wayne who helped out his G.O.O.D. Music comrade with their “Deep” cut off DSP, and Jhene Aiko would provide her sweet serenade to the sold out crowd as well, performing “Stay Down” with Sean.
