Chicago rapper King L–formerly known as King Louie–was shot in the head today on the street in Chicago, but he is awake and reportedly talking.
Thankfully, Louie’s manager confirmed to us that the “Michael Jordan” rapper was merely grazed in the head. It’s been a rough week for Hip Hop in Chicago; legendary DJ Timbuck2 passed away at the age of 34 earlier this week. His service was yesterday.
King L rose to prominence in 2012 as a core member of Chicago’s volcanic drill movement, eventually receiving co-signs from Kanye West and Drake, and being one of only two rappers to have a guest verse on Kanye West’s 2013 Yeezus album.
We’ll have more updates as soon as they’re made available.
