Michael Jordan’s thirtieth signature sneaker has been unveiled. The Air Jordan XXX is here in all of it’s technologically infused glory. Nike has unleashed official images of the shoe following the much anticipated Jordan Brand 30 event live stream.
The silhouette is designed by Nike legend Tinker Hatfield, who has contributed to the most revered sneakers of the storied Air Jordan line. Hatfield first started his contributions on the shoe in February 2015, at the request of Michael Jordan himself. Drawing initial inspiration from a photo of MJ at the 1988 Dunk Contest, Tinker altered the photos character into a galactic figure known as “Mister Cosmos” (pictured in gallery below) and based the AJXXX on a space age aesthetic. Looking to footwear designer Mark Smith for an expansion to the silhouette, the thirtieth signature Air Jordan was a team effort with Nike contributing its renowned Flyknit material to the Jacquard upper. Flight Speed technology lends itself to the shoe offering the ability for rapid footwork.
For an on court look at the latest in the long line of Air Jordan’s, expect Jordan Brand members such as Russell Westbrook of the Oklahoma City Thunder and Kawhi Leonard of the San Antonio Spurs to don the kicks in their quest for basketball triumph.
