Before the start of the upcoming 2018-19 NBA season, Cleveland Cavaliers guard J.R. Smith was informed by the league that his “Supreme” leg tattoo will be subject to game-by-game fines unless covered.

According to a statement from an NBA spokesman on J.R. Smith’s “Supreme” tattoo, NBA rules prohibit players from displaying any commercial logos or corporate insignia on their body or in their hair,” reported by NBA insider Shams Charania on Twitter.

Smith also took to Instagram to voice his opinion on the subject.

The Cleveland Cavaliers will take the court for the first time this preseason against the Boston Celtics on Oct. 2.

Earlier this year, Supreme unveiled their collaboration with Nike and the NBA featuring Smith modeling the entire look. The collection included a full range of apparel accompanied with two pairs Nike Air Force 1 Mid.
