Brought up in Brooklyn, Donn P is a rapper and co-founder of the independent record label, Str8DropEmpire. “The Hip-Hop scene in New York is a little faded. A few rappers are bringing it back to life so I’m working for my time and I’m happy things are coming back around,” Donn P says. Inspired by the likes of The Notorious B.I.G., Jay-Z, Snoop Dogg, Tupac, Nas, and T.I., Donn’s style can be considered witty, street-centered, gritty and unorthodox.
“I’m focused on making good music that I hope people can appreciate and find relatable. I want people to listen to my music because it comes from the heart,” he says.
The youngest of seven, Donn’s family condition was affectionate. He was close to his older brother who taught him the ropes of adulthood. Sadly, the Brooklyn rapper lost his brother to street violence.
Donn P released his first mixtape, Fitting And A Plan, on July 22, 2016, to positive reviews. He has discharged three singles from Plug And A Plan, “Trap House Bumping,” “Catch Me Out” and the lead single “Dripping Aura,” which has landed 20,000 or more hits on YouTube.
