Janet Jackson Earns Over $44 Million Dollars From ‘State of the World’ Tour

Rock and Roll Hall of Fame Inductee Janet Jackson has been having a great run of success lately. She has been winning award after award and honor after honor for incredible contributions to music and pop culture for close to 40 years.

As her State of the World tour has now recently concluded, it has become one of Jackson’s most lucrative. According to reports, it is estimated that she will gross over $44 million dollars from a tremendously successful series of concerts.

As reported by Ebony, Jackson’s State of the World, first began in 2017 using the moniker Unbreakable World tour, made Pollstar’s Year-End Top 100 Worldwide tours in 2017, pulling in an estimated $33 million. Jackson would eventually suspend the tour after she announced her pregnancy.

Continuing her momentum, Jackson is looking forward to another banner year in 2019. The “What Have You Done For Me Lately” singer recently announced her first Las Vegas residency, entitled Metamorphosis.

‘Metamorphosis’ peels back the layers of the immensely private life of Janet Jackson, sharing her transformation from a young girl with issues of self-esteem to global Icon,” a press release for the show read.

“The centerpiece of this all new thought-provoking show, will be Janet herself, captivating you through your senses with electrifying visuals, explosive dance numbers, chart-topping hits and fan favorite deep cuts,” the statement continued. “Fans will follow her path to self-love, empowerment, motherhood and activism, amidst the challenges faced along her personal journey.'”

The pop icon is planning to hit the stage at Park MGM for 15 shows from May to August 2019. The five-time Grammy winner will be celebrating the 30th anniversary of her multi-platinum selling album Rhythm Nation 1814.

Jackson joins Celine Dion, Britney Spears, Mariah Carey, and the Backstreet Boys as artists who have had Las Vegas shows.
