With two weeks to go till its July 3rd release, and no real promo aside from the above cover, many are already questioning the likelihood of 50 Cent’s new album seeing the light of day. Putting some speculation to rest, the G-Unit general held an album listening party in San Francisco last night in support of Murder By Numbers, his 5th studio album.

Hosted by 106 KMEL, the private event had a few special guest in attendance, as well as some select fans that had won a radio contest. Fif sat down and spoke to radio personality Big Von about the project.

Many are saying that Fif is getting no backing from Interscope Records. Adding fuel to the fire, he had THIS to say when he sat down with us a couple weeks back.

Where do we stand with Interscope and the album now?

50: About done with it, I think im going to release it to myself as a birthday present. The politics and cycle of how things work when you’re at the tail end, theres a lot of confusion, you go through your whole career, trying to figure out where you have to go. I’ve been sitting on this, I’ll prob put it out July 3rd.

Are you still looking forward to 50 Cent’s new album?
