The sample game is certainly f….d up these days. Mr. West is certainly feeling some heat with his 2011 release of My Beautiful Dark Twisted Fantasy. TufAmerica has pushed the legal envelope to Kanye’s team over the samples used in “Who Will Survive In America” and “Lost In The World.” Both tracks sample Eddie Bo’s “Hook & Sling.”

TufAmerica reportedly received $62,500 from Roc-A-Fella and Universal Music Group in licensing fees. Since there was multiple sample uses of the “Hook & Sling,” TufAmerica is pushing for written licensing agreements.

Is this just another example of why producers should move away from sampling? Or is this just another money disagreement that could’ve been resolved earlier.
