Kendrick Lamar discusses dream collaboration with DJ Buck.
As the success seems to continuously unfold for K.Do…ahem, Kendrick Lamar has seen immediate benefits from his critically acclaimed good kid m.A.A.d. city. Kendrick has since received applause from notable artists and producers such as fellow Compton natives The Game and Dr. Dre. The good kid has also been featured on collaborative tracks with major artists such as Drake, 2 Chainz, Busta Rhymes, and A$AP Rocky.
“It’s a good feeling, it lets me know I’m doing something right,” Lamar told Hot 93.7’s DJ Buck of Hartford, CT.
He continued, “Because I respect them, and for them to give me respect… to be able to do it so early in my career is a great feeling.”
The one veteran Compton rapper/producer who Kendrick said tops his list of possible dream collaborations was DJ Quik.
“He is a legend, the original Compton cat that really branded the foundation along with N.W.A,” he said. Kendrick continued, “That’s all we was playing in the house when I was coming up.”
