On Saturday (July,20th), in honor of Trayvon Martin and the Martin family, Beyonce and Jay-Z showed their support by joining activist Al Sharpton and other community leaders in the NYC protest of “Stand your Ground” laws.

According to reports, Al Sharpton spoke on the couple’s behalf by announcing that, “Jay Z and Beyoncé said they didn’t want to speak and they didn’t come for a photo op,” they were there for a purpose,- to solely show their support as citizens and parents.

Sharpton then continued saying,”Jay Z told me, ‘I’m a father. Beyoncé is a mother.’ We all feel the pain and apprehension—the laws must protect everybody, or it doesn’t protect anybody. We do not come from hate, we come from love of children.”

This case has definitely touched everyone from all walks of life. It is great to see everyone using their power of getting out and sticking together in order to bring about JUSTICE!
