Children Of The Night may be the most recognizable members of World’s Fair. The group is comprised of three emcees: Remy Banks, Nastey Nigel, and Lansky Jones. Each brings something different to the table, which bleeds into their lyrics, making them incredibly varied. One emcee will rap about his mustache, the other will discuss Hispanic food, and rounding it off, the third will dedicate a large amount of time to videogames. While it might sound scattered, their chemistry works well. They can take three different topics and manipulate them to the point that a cohesive song appears. It’s quite impressive.

Their last project is Queens…Revisited. It is easily one of the best put together mixtapes of 2012. Not surprisingly, this project was a major reason for their spike in popularity.

The mixtape is dominated by spacey-jazz meets traditional Queens sounds. All three emcees quickly find their groove, as soon as the “Intro” comes on. While they do want to help Queens revitalize it’s hip-hop scene, they balance this with their own hunger for recognition. This point is made even clearer on “Kids From Queens”—whose hook goes ‘why they hating on these kids from Queens, cause we killing em.”

Queens is all over this tape, at one point they ponder why it hasn’t brought home a championship in a long time. If they keep grinding the way they have been, it might be lifting one in the near future.
