Last month, many compared Kendrick Lamar’s scathing “Control” verse, in which he name-dropped various rappers and promised to murder them on record, to a classic wrasslin’ promo, where in a wrestler would ‘call out’ his opponent and make it known that their demise was imminent; yesterday evening WWE superstar and indie-wrestling legend Kassius Ohno added to the ‘rap is like wrestling’ mythos by tweeting a picture of himself rocking a TDE tank top on WWE NXT, a program showcasing future WWE wrestling stars.
Ohno, who became world renowned wrestling independently under the moniker Chris Hero before joining WWE, paraphrased Schoolboy Q with the caption “Y’all actin’ like that #TDE don’t run #WWE,” and tagged the official TDE twitter page.
