Snoop Lion is no more. Snoop Dogg is focusing on his upcoming funk album with Funk-artist Dam-Funk. With a new album and genre, comes a new alias. For 7 Days of Funk, Snoop plans on dropping the Lion from his name and will now be known as Snoopzilla.
The name was inspired by fellow Funk artist Bootsy Collins, who would sometimes use the nickname Bootzilla. “We’re the babies of the Mothership. I’ve had funk influences in my music my whole career. Dam-Funk is cold. He’s keeping the funk alive and I knew I had to get down with him,” Snoop said in regards to the name change.
7 Days Of Funk drops December 10th.
