Miley Cyrus dominated 2013 with her twerking videos, her Bangerz album, and her outrageous performance with Robin Thicke at this year’s VMA’s. Upon the release of her visual for “Wrecking Ball” in which she appears nude and licks a sledgehammer, singer Sinead O’ Connor felt the need to personally write to the former Disney star and express her feelings about Cyrus’ eccentric antics. The letter sparked a written battle which led O’ Connor to completely trash the pop star.
“I am extremely concerned for you that those around you have led you to believe, or encouraged you in your own belief, that it is in any way “cool” to be naked and licking sledgehammers in your videos. It is in fact the case that you will obscure your talent by allowing yourself to be pimped, whether it’s the music business or yourself doing the pimping.”
