2013: Busta Rhymes ft. Q-Tip – “Thank You”
“Thank You” represents a return to form for both emcees; we haven’t heard them rapping like this in years. While time has changed both of their appearances—Busta Rhymes is a little more Hulk like nowadays—their chemistry hasn’t diminished in the slightest. Playing off of one another, seamlessly, they stuff as many bars into the four minute track as possible, which turns out to be an impressive amount. Everything seems to work in the song, from the rapping to the production. Q-Tip and Busta Rhymes clearly understand their lanes, making it known to everyone that they have mastered them. A nostalgic and forward thinking track, greatly appreciated.
