1. Choose one rapper to style and how would you do it.
Without a doubt we would go for Yeezy. There’s no one else as important in Rap and Fashion as him right now. Our current Kush Collection is based on the ancient Black Egyptian dynasty but in a new modern time. We literally have recreated brand new garments like our world’s first Cape Hoody, which has elements of regal Egyptian pharaohs (cape) but is modern with a Streetwear twist (hoody). For a hat, we would custom make a velvet strapback with text in our new glow in the dark acrylic, which would be in Armenian and spell out Kim – so that only he can know the meaning.
2. Favorite album or song you listen to while you work.
We stream a lot of music when we work at our studio doing hats, mainly old skool jams but I’ve noticed that we keep playing that joint by Schoolboy Q & Kendrick Lamar called “Collard Greens.” For some reason they both make music that really helps us focus and get sh*t done. They always have bangers but at the same time really throw down some intelligent lyrics.
3. You just won the lottery and want to throw a crazy party. What’s your party called? What’s going down at your party? Who’s there? Where is it?
Great question, especially as there’s no denying me & Teejay are party dudes which means this party would be like no other.
Straight away it would be in the summer, and just like Passa Passa in Jamaica it would be an outdoor affair. Depending on our lottery win, hopefully it would be a beach party/festival. Teejay thought of the name 4 Triangles, mainly as that relates to our logo but additionally as we want to have 4 soundstages playing Dancehall, Rap music, House, and UK Grime. It would last all weekend with laser light shows and projected visuals on big screens.
Entry will be open to all members of da undaground fans, which means we’re obliged to have performers who have worn our items such as Nicky Minaj, A$AP Rocky, and Ace Hood. Plus not forgetting the DJ’s we’ve given hats to such as Bauuer, Rudimental and even the Legendary UK actor/DJ Idris Elba.
4. What’s one New Years resolution that you will never make?
I would never try to give up going out on the weekends. Although it can save money, I think it’s important to always be sociable in this fashion game. You don’t always have to spend tons of money on getting into clubs. There’s other cheaper alternatives. But what is important is that you keep up to date with fashion shows, after parties, exhibitions, even family get togethers, as these keep you focused on promoting to the world your hard work, roots and determination.
