2. LeBron James, Miami Heat
I know, I know. How could I put LeBron at #2 on this list.
King James sits at #2 on this list for a number of reasons. James has been talking A LOT lately. James came out earlier this week and stated that he will be on the Mount Rushmore of NBA players when his career is all said and done, along with NBA legends Michael Jordan, Larry Bird and Magic Johnson. That list will vary depending on who you ask, but James has been doing his best to quiet the chatter about Durant threatening his throne.
James does have a right to speak up and defend himself, as situations like this where people say Durant is passing him up continue to happen. To make things clear, James is still the best player in the NBA and in the world. James is a four-time NBA regular season MVP, two-time NBA Champion and two-time Finals MVP, so Durant has a lot of catching up to do. But Durant is a better scorer and usually makes James and anyone else that tries to pick him up in a 1 on 1 duel look bad. Durant is simply impossible to guard and if it comes down to James attempting to go shot for shot with Durant at the end of the game, I have to go with Durant in the duel.
