The Big East just isn’t the same anymore. With the departures of Pittsburgh, Syracuse, UConn, Louisville, Rutgers, Notre Dame, South Florida, Cincinnati, and West Virginia, the Big East is going through some major changes and growing pains. Creighton and Providence are quality teams though, and it will be an intriguing match up. Creighton is looking to establish their legitimacy with a Big East championship and Providence will need to pick up the win to make it to the NCAA tournament.
Although the Providence Friars will be fighting for their tournament lives tonight at MSG, we are going with the #14 Creighton Bluejays in this one. Doug McDermott has been too much to handle for every opponent that has crossed his path this season and he is the favorite for the college basketball player of the year award.
