When she launched her acting career, people and critics thought that she was only of African American descent but she fooled people. She is in fact African American descent from her mother’s side and Irish-Italian descent from her father’s side. Throughout her career, she was compared to fellow veteran actresses, Halle Berry and Pam Grier and has always embrace who she was when she was growing up.
