The Gifted still going strong
Wale‘s last album, 2013’s The Gifted, the first of his albums to debut at #1 on Billboard, is currently sitting at roughly 350,000 records sold. It’s a significant underperformance compare to his last album, Ambition, which was certified Gold and was nominated for a Grammy award (“Lotus Flower Bomb”), but there are several records on The Gifted that have stood the test of time, one of them being “Sunshine”.
The original track, a bouncy, enjoyable cut produced by Tone P, gets the remix treatment, courtesy of Chi-town vet Common–a first time Wale collaborator–and Folarin’s head honcho, Rick Ross. The remix, which maintains the original instrumental and Wale verse, comes as Wale is admittedly prepping for his new album due out fall of this year, The Album About Nothing.
