Jeremiah Jae Writes His Own Script On Good Times Mixtape

At this point, I can’t feel sorry if you still don’t know about Jeremiah Jae. The Chicago emcee just dropped his second mixtape since signing with Warp Records, and his storytelling skills are only getting stronger. His lazy cadence and vivid imagery make me think of another dimension where Rust Cohle takes up the mic instead of the badge. This is Hip-Hop that’s continually adding something to the culture. And the production he chooses are a beautiful kind of ugly, like taking discarded toys and composing a collage with all of them.

The tape drew inspiration from the ’70s TV sitcom of the same name. There’s more in common between the show and Jae than the Chicago setting for their stories. The snippets from the show throughout the project eerily echo as if they were ghosts of Jeremiah’s life. Jeremiah brings the usual suspects along-Black Jungle Squad members Oliver the 2nd, Tre, Isreal-for the guest features and used additional production from Lord Raja and Stones Throw artists Jonwayne and Knxwledge.

Jae will be touring in 10 countries for the next couple of months after performing with Madlib in London. Check out the schedule HERE.
