What would you like to share with us?
I’m just excited to be here performing tonight at the 2014 SESAC Pop Awards. My single “Be Like” is tearing up radio. They don’t know it’s still on fire on radio. I’m going on a 45-city tour with Future starting May 23 in Milwaukee, Wisconsin of all city and I’m just enjoying life right now.
What do you admire about Future as an artist?
You know what? Future melodically is so ill and his ability to kind of weave the melody inside of the chords is really cool and he adds that street edge to it at the same time. So he’s to be applauded.
What can you share about your upcoming album?
My album has a lot of deep content to it, every record that I have put out thus far has a deeper meaning than what’s on the surface and I wanted to keep that consistently going through the album. So it’s not just songs about anything. It’s just really good quality music.
You also worked on Usher’s upcoming album.
First of all that “Good Kisser” record – Pop and Oak did that is amazing. The video is amazing so shout out to Usher. We did some really cool songs. I don’t even really want to give any titles away, but I’m really excited about me and Usher getting back into the studio. It was a lot of fun.
Are there any other projects that you would like to shout out?
Tiara Thomas’ album is coming along crazy. She played me her album a few weeks ago. It’s amazing. She has a few more songs that she’s doing then she’s wrapping dropping her single within the next few weeks, so super excited. Be on the lookout for her.
