Angela has been busy churning out hits for some of the biggest names in music. She co-wrote several songs for Melissa Etheridge’s upcoming album, which is produced by Jerry Wonda. Read our exclusive interview with Angela Hunte below:
Speak about your collaboration with Melissa Etheridge.
We actually did about four or five songs with Melissa Etheridge. I actually just went to her concert and she debuted one of the songs at her show. This woman is incredible. She has breathed new life into me as a songwriter and after doing like five or six songs with her, she leaned over to me and told me “You’re the first person I have ever co-written with,” and I was like “I’m glad you told me that now and you didn’t tell me that six songs ago.” It’s been an incredible experience to work with this woman, she’s a legend, she’s an icon and to be able to be in the same room with her and to be able to just sit down at a piano and write a song with this woman has completely changed my life. I can’t tell you. I’m extremely excited about her project and it’s coming out in September.
Jerry Wonda produced those songs?
Yes, Jerry produced it. Me and Melissa wrote it, and it’s not anything different than Melissa has always done. It’s good songwriting…some good ‘swampy music’ as she calls it.
