Could a Hov verse be in the works?
Lil’ Wayne‘s relationship to Jay Z hasn’t been spoken on much by either party, but between the media constantly piecing things together, and each doing what they do best to get their points across, you can pretty much figure it out for yourself. About a decade ago, Hov & Weezy’s careers were almost joined at the hip–Jay Z spoke on his efforts to sign Wayne to Roc-A-Fella just about a decade ago in a relatively recent interview with The Breakfast Club–and since then, they’ve continually either worked together, or thrown light jabs at each other.
In the latest #WeezyWednesday, which you can watch below, as he’s done for the better part of this year, Lil’ Wayne previewed what is expected to be a new song from Tha Carter V, “D’USSE”. If you aren’t hip, “D’USSE” is Jay Z’s latest liquor venture–he’s been heavily involved in promoting and marketing the relatively young liquor brand for the past couple years–so for Wayne to have a song called that, well, it’s interesting. Have they officially put their short-lived Watch The Throne/Tha Carter IV spat aside? Will Jay make an appearance on C5? We’ll see.
“Hov, f*ck with ya boy”.
