Stars Sutton Foster, Debi Mazar, Nico Tortorella and Miriam Shor attended a special advanced screening of TV Land’s “Younger” at Soho House in New York.
After a very posh breakfast, we had a pleasure of seeing “Younger”, TV Land’s new comedy coming out in January 2015. Younger is what we would all like to feel like, especially as we get older. Most of us can identify with Liza, a single mom played by Sutton Foster who is literally trying to pick up where she left off fifteen years ago. With a little help from her lesbian friend Maggie, played by Debi Mazar, she manages to successfully portray herself as a 26 year old. She changes her appearance, attitude and goes out with a younger man. She even gets a mean boss that treats her like a teenager.
We had a moment to chat with Sutton about her latest role. When asked how she prepared and if going out with a younger guy for the sake of research was mandatory she smiled. She said she enjoys wearing “younger people’s clothes” and is inspired to experiment. Patricia Field is a costume consultant on the show and her distinguished vision is quite noticeable. Sutton noted that she has become very close with Hilary Duff who plays Jennifer. She said her character Liza feels protective of Jennifer because she is close to her daughter’s age. There are plenty of heartwarming, silly scenes made for Millennials. The first big lesson you will learn? If you still have an AOL account, switch!
