It looks like there’s no reason to give up hope on Mayweather v Pacquiao
Floyd Mayweather has fought and defeated 47 opponents, but the 1 person everyone wants to see him fight is the one fight most of the boxing and sports world is afraid might not happen.
Never fear, Floyd Mayweather Sr. says we have nothing to worry about.
In an interview with Fight Hype, Floyd Sr. says the Pacquiao fight is definitely happening, and as one of the instrumental members of his son’s operation, dad probably knows best, right?
Below is an excerpt from the interview, which you can view in it’s entirety here.
BT: But Big Floyd, do you really think that fight is going to happen? I mean, do you honestly think Bob Arum and Al Haymon are going to sit down and make that fight happen?
FMS: Ummmm…it’s gonna happen. That fight’s gonna happen. Trust me. That fight’s definitely gonna happen. It’s a fight for the world, man, right there. It’s the biggest fight that has ever been in life, so like I said man, that fight’s gonna happen. I’ma tell you right now, he never told me the fight’s gonna happen, but I’ma tell you, the fight’s gonna happen. You mark my words and we’ll see. And it needs to happen. Just like Ali and Joe Frazier, or Ali and George Foreman, something like that, man, it’s one of those fights like that. The world wants to see it and they’ll want to see it again when Floyd beats Pacquiao. I’m pretty sure Floyd is gonna make it look where people are going to want to see it again, because I’m just saying, Floyd’s gonna pick Pacquiao apart, man.
We’ll see. If so, Floyd, Vegas and Showtime could be in for a big pay day.
