“YG, Y Not?!” and many other angry tweets yesterday culminated in a protest in downtown LA.
Some consider YG’s “My Krazy Life” to be one of 2014’s best albums receiving a 4/5 by XXL, a 9/10 by Spin and a 3.5/5 by Rolling Stone. Brandon Soderberg of Spin even compared “My Krazy Life” to the Kendrick Lamar’s immaculate “Good Kid m.A.A.d City.” However, even with all the praise and generally positive reviews YG did not receive a Grammy nomination. This sent his fans into a frenzy as they crowded outside the Grammy Museum in Downtown Los Angeles to protest this injustice. YG expressed his surprise and tweeted that he had nothing to do with the congregation of fans.
