New mutant alert.
It seems X-Men: Apocalypse director and producer Bryan Singer has enlisted some new faces into the franchise to play familiar roles in the upcoming film. Alexandra Shipp, who recently gained some notoriety for portraying the late R&B crooner Aaliyah in a Lifetime biopic, will play a young “Storm”, Sophie Turner who plays Sansa Stark on Game of Thrones will play a young “Jean Grey” and Tye Sheridan who starred and Mud will play a young “Cyclops/Scott Summers” (all of whom are pictured above) according to a tweet from Singer.

This follows the news that Oscar Isaac will be playing the titular villain in the upcoming film.
The roles of Storm, Jean, and Cyclops were previously played by Halle Berry, Famke Janssen and James Mardsen respectively, and we assume we’ll be seeing the mutants from their humble beginnings through the franchise’s new additions. Additionally it was previously announced that Oscar Isaac will play the titular villain in film, so it’s shaping up
The new recruits will join James McAvoy (Professor X), Michael Fassbender (Magneto), Jennifer Lawrence (Mystique) and the gang when X-Men: Apocalypse hits theaters on May 27, 2016. Be sure to check back as more information becomes available.
