The pop singer announced earlier today via Tumblr that her mother has cancer.
Originally posted to her Tumblr, then later tweeted to the public, Taylor Swift announced that her mother has been diagnosed with breast cancer. Apparently around Christmas time Swift convinced her mother to go in and get screened and the results came in and revealed the shocking results. Swift said, “the results came in, and I’m saddened to tell you that my mom has been diagnosed with cancer. I’d like to keep the details of her condition and treatment plans private, but she wanted you to know.”
Additionally, Taylor’s mother is urging her fans to remind parents to get screened to “possibly lead to an early diagnosis and an easier battle.” Disease can strike anyone regardless of notoriety or stature, something to remember as our hearts go out to Taylor’s mother and other victims of cancer.
