Lil Wayne Becomes Co-Owner Of Tidal

Wayne finds a way to share his music as he battles with Cash Money to release him

Lil’ Wayne has been looking for options to share his music the way he wants to and on his terms. He is currently embattled in a stressful lawsuit against his label Cash Money Records for substantial money that is still owed to him and is frustrated by the business and politics disabling him from simply connecting to his fans. “I’m a prisoner and so is my creativity. I just really, really want to be off this label and give my fans what they want,” he said.

Yesterday, Wayne finally had the opportunity to re-connect with his fans and escape the heartbreak of feeling imprisoned by releasing “Glory” through Tidal music sharing, where he recently became an artist owner.

“TIDAL is a great way to share music directly with fans “I’m hyped for people to hear my latest track and can’t wait to show fans love through a special TIDAL X.”

Tidal executive Vania Schlogel adds, “We’re honored for Lil Wayne to join TIDAL. His eagerness to release an exclusive TIDAL track and schedule a TIDAL X performance is just another example of how passionately artists care about getting their music to fans.”

Glory will be the first track from Wayne’s “Free Weezy” album which he intends to give away for free to his fans who’ve been waiting for him. The date and venue for his Tidal X show has not yet been confirmed. Wayne continues to be apologetic but wants people to know his current situation is beyond his control. “Everything I do is for the fans,” he said. Tidal is offering a free one month service to new subscribers. Check out Glory exclusively on www.tidal.com.
