The manager of Adams Mark Hotel in Kansas City has been fired for committing a despicable, racist act in one of the hotel’s offices.
The manager, a white man, hung a “slave doll” from one of the hotel’s offices doorways, using a trash bag to hang it from the frame. One of the hotel’s employees came across the horrific sight, snapped a picture, and brought it to to an attorney, from whom she solicited legal advice.

For those not brushed up on the specifics of the Sandra Bland case, the woman, an African-American, was believed by authorities to have hung herself with a garbage bag in her jail cell, just two days after being abrasively detained by an overzealous pair of police officers. Bland’s family is adamant about the fact that their relative would never have committed suicide, and are pleading with investigators to consider the fact that her life was forcibly taken from her.
The manager in question has been relieved of his duties, and the following is a brief statement from the hotel’s general manager.
Immediately following the investigation, the employee was terminated, Friday, July 24th, prior to the start of their next shift. The Adam’s Mark Kansas City is committed to maintaining a positive working environment free of unlawful harassment.
