Woman’s Truck Set On Fire By Neighbors Who Want Her to Move

A Ohio woman got an unpleasant welcome from her neighbors after she bought property with the intention of opening a beauty school.

40-year-old Nicole Rhodes says that she purchased property in Youngstown, Ohio to open up a beauty school, and since renovating the property, Rhodes says that she has been receiving hate mail from neighbors, and someone set her 2006 Ford F-150 truck on fire Monday.

In an interview with the NY Daily News, Rhodes says that she cannot believe that this kind of racism still exists in 2015.

“This can’t be real. This just can’t be real,” Rhodes told the New York Daily News. “It just cannot be this serious… Black skin just can’t make you go destroying property.”

The police chief of Youngstown has filed a report stating that the letter received prior to the arson was “menacing” now that Rhodes is in fear of her life. The mother of four says that she doesn’t encourage hate. Rhodes has decided to sell the building in Youngstown, and move her beauty school to another town. Until then, Rhodes says she has put 16 surveillance cameras around her property.

Really? Is this 2015 or 1955?
