Though West will be receiving this award, he has not been confirmed to perform at the award show, according to The Hollywood Reporter. The show will take place at the Microsoft Soft Theater in Los Angeles on Sunday.
West has been nominated for Video of the Year three times without a signal victory. His last performance was in 2013 when he performed “Blood on the Leaves” from the album Yezzus.
But by far the greatest moment has to be his beef with Taylor Swift back in 2009. The rapper, believing that Beyoncé should have won the award, rushed up on the stage with Swift and made himself look crazy. Watch the video below, and the VMA’s live Sunday at 9 p.m.
