It is a different type of blue who are the heavy favorites to win it all come March. Sorry Drake!
As the NBA season heats up, college hoop fans have some major reasons to get excited as the preseason polls were released to the public. Yesterday, the Associated Press released their preseason top 25 poll and for the first time in a couple of years, the Kentucky Wildcats are not deemed as the #1 overall favorite. This year’s #1 ranked college squad is the North Carolina Tar Heels. By receiving 35 first-place votes, coach Roy Williams’ squad broke the tie between the UCLA Bruins for the most preseason #1 votes in preseason poll history. In addition, it marks the first time since the 2011-2012 season that they start off their season ranked #1 in the country. Coming in second is the Kentucky Wildcats, then the Maryland Terrapins and rounding off your top 5 is the defending national champs, Duke Blue Devils.
