Early Monday morning, (November 9) a man was shot and killed and two others were wounded in a shooting that took place near Pennsylvania Station around 6:15am. Police declared Angel Quinones, 43, dead at the scene. William Lamboy, 45, suffered gunshot wounds to the neck and abdomen, while Eddie Torres, 48, was shot in the leg. Both victims were taken to nearby Bellevue Hospital.
According to reports, there was an altercation which took place at a McDonald’s on Eighth Avenue, between 34th and 35 streets. The three victims were at the McDonald’s when an unidentified man entered and a had brief discussion and soon left. A witness named PJ Basile stated that he saw the three men later began talking to another group of men when an argument erupted.
Witness:
He had run to the car and grabbed his weapon,” Mr. Basile said. “He clacked his gun; that’s when I was nervous and backed up.” He added that the victims “walked into an ambush.
Chief Boyce stated that the three men walked onto the sidewalk and the first man that spoke with them inside of the McDonald’s had been waiting and ambushed them. The eventual fatal confrontation spilled down into the subway station at 35th street and Eighth avenue where the shots were fired. Both of the injured men are expected to survive while the police still search for the gunman.
